Who to Contact with Questions
We understand the complexities of parenting and of fitting together all the pieces of school and family life. Questions arise. We want you to feel that it is natural and appropriate to ask questions when you are uncertain. We also want you to offer your viewpoints. We encourage parents to begin with the teacher if there are questions or concerns about a specific class.
Here is a link to the list of subject areas and people who may also help. If they don't have the answers, they will direct you elsewhere. Don't
give up until you are satisfied!

Safe Drop-Off ReminderIn the morning, when you are dropping off a child at the Middle Building, please be sure to drive to the far end of the parking lot before unloading. Stop as close as you possibly can to the stop sign at the exit. Avoid the unsafe practice of backing up or pulling around unloading vehicles. Do not drive in toward the front of the school where buses unload.
For afternoon pickup, please use a similar pattern of filling the parking lot from the far end while waiting. Do not drive in toward the front of the school since this blocks bus movement and backing up in a space that tight invites accidents.
After-hours, if you wish to drive in closer to the school when picking up a student after sports practice, for example park on the left side of the driveway where teachers park during the day. Vehicles parked on the right side near the lawn where students congregate have been dented by those backing up a slight incline from the left. If everyone uses the same system in our tight spaces, the traffic flow will be efficient and safe.
All Parents Must. All parents must fill out the emergency information forms sent in the summer mailing. There should be one for each of your children. It is essential that we receive these completed forms before your child begins school in September.
Also crucial is the immediate updating of the forms if you should change work locations or if phone numbers change. We must be able to reach you, or a person designated by you, in case of an emergency. Roxanne in the front office needs to know if your child is receiving medication, and Karen Gregg, Lynne Allen or MaryAnn Sanborn, deans of the lower, middle and high schools respectively, need to know if there are important changes in family circumstances which may influence your children's performance at school.
Please help us do our part by doing your part. Fill out the forms. Don't rely on us to call you about them.
Work together and---WOW!
By Karen Gregg
While driving to school this September you might notice a new structure going up at the Lower building.is our new play structure.
The whole process started last May when students drew their own pictures of what they thought the new structure should look like. Then Paul Duncanson, parent of Myles and Max, came in and discussed those ideas with the students at a morning session. He then took the drawings home and drew up a plan that included the students' input. After the plan was approved we got another parent volunteer, Scott Parsons, whose son is in second grade, to take on the responsibility of organizing an incredibly dedicated crew of parents to build it.
Think back on this past summer. Remember the heat? Fillion, Scott Parsons, Randy Budington, James Miller, Michael Folsom, and Dave Bogacz put in countless hours working on this structure that had an incredible amount of problem solving and pure physical labor involved with it. Others came forward on the two parent workdays to help.dedication and enthusiasm for the project has been amazing and quite inspiring. There is no end to what can be done when we work together. If it's not finished quite yet, it will be soon!
Bulb Fundraiser
In your end-of-the-summer mailing, you probably received a letter and brochure concerning the new Bulb Fundraiser. Please remember that orders are due at Roxanne's desk no later than September 10. Payment should be collected at the time the order is made. Checks should be made out to Sant Bani School.
The bulbs will arrive 3-4 weeks after the order is placed. Contact Sara Rosenbloom via the schoolwith questions. Thank you for participating in this new and potentially significant fundraiser for SBS.
Family Service Opportunities
by Hillary WoodwardAs many of you know, the teachers at the Sant Bani School involve your children in many service opportunities throughout the school year. Each month, in this section of the Sant Bani Newsletter, I will provide information about a service opportunity for you and your family. There are so many wonderful activities going on around the state and it is a great way to show your children that helping others in need and supporting a cause can be a very enriching experience.
Asthma affects an estimated 18,000 children in New Hampshire alone. The American Lung Association will hold their First Annual Blow the Whistle on Asthma Walk to bring visibility to this disease which affects so many. The 5K walk begins and ends at Singer Family Park in Manchester, NH on Saturday, September 28. If you and your family would like to join in and help, you can pre-register by calling 1-800-LUNG-USA or by emailing Dee Martin at dee@nhlung.org. If you would like to find more information you can check the following web site: http://www.asthmawalk.kintera.org/nh.
